Part of our social value strategy, our environmental policy and our group’s commitment to ‘getting greener’ involves monitoring specific eco metrics, tracking and evidencing our proactive approach to reducing our carbon footprint across all areas of our business.
As an ISO 14001 accredited organisation our environmental efforts encompass policy, planning, implementation, monitoring and continuous improvement, embedding a green company culture.
Our data evaluation includes the following, comparing our year-on-year improvements:
- Litres of fuel purchased
- Paper reams purchased
- Kilograms of waste to landfill and kilograms of waste diverted from landfill
- Solar energy production from our own head office solar panels
- Percentage of electric vehicles in our fleet
- Business mileage and fuel usage
- Plus, other metrics that impact our carbon footprint
As our metrics evidence, we’re making huge steps in the right direction to improve our group energy efficiency and sustainability, positively impacting our own operations as well as delivering wider environmental benefits.
Our 2024 – 2025 comparisons highlight impressive improvements in our paper usage, waste sent to landfill, fuel usage and business mileage, with a 40% increase in the percentage of fleet miles covered by electric vehicles.
Our solar panels, located at our Essex head office, have also taken our own energy production from 1500kwh in 2023 to almost 10,000kwh in 2025. Producing 10,000kwh of electricity through solar panels rather than grid electricity typically offsets approximately 3.8 to 4.3 metric tons (3,800–4,300kg) of C02 per year, which is equivalent to the carbon sequestration of roughly 150 to 330+ mature trees per year.*
This year The TP Group’s Painting Solutions division is also focusing on significantly reducing their waste paint, working in collaboration with Community Repaint, a charitable organisation that provides an economical and sustainable solution for waste paint. Community Repaint, which is sponsored by Dulux, supports individuals in need, community organisations and charities, matching waste paint with decorating requirements. We look forward to sharing how many litres of paint are contributed to the scheme during 2026 and how many projects benefited from our donations.
