Minchenden School gets new surfacing to a tight deadline

Project type: Education

Division: Surfacing & Coatings

In May 2019, The TP Group was approached to assist with surfacing works at Minchendon School in London’s Southgate area.

This newly built upper secondary school specialises in the teaching of pupils with autism and includes fantastic facilities such as a practice flat, designed to help students develop life-skills; numerous therapy rooms; and a gym and fitness area. Our client, Thomas Sinden, decided to get in touch after receiving a very favourable reference from their supplier Addagrip Terraco Ltd. A tight immovable deadline was given to ensure that everything was ready for the opening of the school.

Using BBA approved Addaset products, The TP Group laid a 6mm Dorset Gold colour blend throughout most of the school’s external playgrounds and pathways. In contrast to this, a 6mm Lucerne Silver colour blend was used for a small communal seating area, while earthy red rubber safety surfaces were laid beneath climbing frames and play equipment.

Our surfacing team laid a total of 1,748m2 in just 6 non-consecutive days. The predominant Dorset Gold colour scheme ads warmth to the schoolgrounds and complements the dark wooden benches and fences beautifully.
