A triad of colour for a Bethnal Green courtyard
At this residential complex in London’s East End, an ambitious plan had been formulated to create a striking feature of a central courtyard surface.
With a sculpture at its heart, various raised planting beds, inset lighting and a vast number of overlooking balconies, it was important that the finished surface live up to the architectural plans to form a key aesthetic focal point for the site. A great deal of careful preparation was required to ensure that the final surface would be level once laid upon the existing macadam substrate.
Using a three-colour autumnal gold palette, Resin Bound Gravel was installed according to an elaborate curving, ripple pattern. Our team had to apply expert craftsmanship to work neatly around the inset lights.
At The TP Group, we relish a challenge so we were thrilled to be asked to undertake this complex project. We couldn’t be happier with how the final surface came out – thankfully our client and the building residents all felt the same way.
