The safe way to upgrade fire protection
The residential compound in Askill Drive was in need of fire upgrading, so Thomas Sinden invited us to tender.
The parts requiring an upgrade were the communal and external masonry, so after winning the project, we had to attend the site to carry out lead testing to all internal and external wood- and metalwork, before being able to commence decoration.
Using a top of the range Olympus lead tester, we received survey results instantly, and were able to return to the office to write up reports on the quantity of lead levels. This is crucial, because it tells us if a building element – such as a balustrade – will require paint to be fully stripped to remove lead. We also need to look after the health and well-being of our staff, and therefore send our operatives to Harley Street every 3-6 months to monitor lead levels in their blood.
Our specialist staff are trained and have years of experience, so they know what to do to work safely when harmful substances are involved. We make sure they are up to date with our RAMS regarding lead and wear PPE/RPE to protect from harmful dust. This ensures they finished works at Askill Drive on time and to budget. Thomas Sinden has since invited us to tender again many more times as they were very pleased with the outcome.
