Michael Morley

Chairman
Management Services

Michael’s career in the construction industry began working on the tools laying resin flooring and progressed through numerous roles to taking over as Chairman of The TP Group Group in 2004. Since them, Michael’s dedication to client satisfaction has seen the company grow from strength to strength.

As a firm believer in service without compromise, Michael prides himself on his ability to offer support through knowledge and works closely with both clients and staff sharing his unrivalled expertise.

Outside of work, Michael can be found spending time with his family, swapping his hard hat for a chef’s hat as he experiments in the kitchen or indulging his passion for cars.

Guy Bollen

Group Managing Director
Management Services

Guy has over 35 years’ experience in decorating and construction. His diverse background and commercial awareness give him a unique understanding of our clients’ requirements. He is focused on delivering excellent value and service to our customers. As a result, The TP Group’s Painting Solutions division are one of the biggest independent painting contractors in the country.

Never one to be complacent, Guy is always looking at ways to refine the group’s quality management systems and value engineering options.

He takes great pride in the relationships he forms with clients and suppliers and few things give him more pleasure than helping his colleagues achieve their career goals. He is working closely with suppliers, the CITB and clients to develop The TP Group’s apprenticeship scheme.

Guy’s ambition lies in continued growth for The TP Group and in making the company name synonymous with the finest levels of service and quality.

Colin Burton

Group Finance Director
Management Services

Colin joined the Group in 2016 as Financial Controller and progressed into the Group Finance Director role in 2019. He qualified as an accountant in 1998 and has worked predominantly in the property development, waste and construction sectors over the last two decades.

Colin’s main responsibilities include overseeing the finance functions of the group but he increasingly spends time looking into enhancing internal processes. Colin is known internally as ‘the spreadsheet guy’.

Away from work, Colin enjoys spending time with his family. His hobbies include golf, running and cycling.

Emma Thompson

Office / Project Manager
Management Services

Emma joined The TP Group in 2015 when a new role was developed to ensure that the rapidly growing group would continue to operate as smoothly as possible. Emma developed and implemented office management systems and took responsibility for HR, health & safety and quality control. She is Level 3 CIPD HR qualified, ISO 9001 and IOSH trained.

Emma enjoys the diversity of her role and is always keen to take on new challenges. In 2017, she managed the relocation, renovation and moving of the company to new offices in Great Baddow. She is currently managing the creation of The TP Group’s apprenticeship scheme.

Outside work, Emma enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

Grace Miller

Office Manager
Management Services

Grace joined the company in March 2017 as a Senior Administrator when a new role was created to assist the Office Manager with the continued expansion of the management services team. Grace was given the opportunity to train and step into the Office Manager role in January 2019 and has been working as PA to the Chairman ever since. She is Level 3 CIPD HR qualified, ISO 9001 and IOSH trained.

Grace enjoys the diverse duties of the Office Manager position and relishes her involvement across the various different companies within the group.

Dave Bryant

Operations Director
Painting Solutions

Having worked in the decorating industry for over 30 years, Dave’s knowledge is unparalleled.

While running his own business for a number of years, Dave built a strong reputation amongst clients and suppliers. Many of these suppliers came to rely on Dave as something of a troubleshooter, frequently approaching him to consult on projects or even carry out difficult tasks on their behalf.

Dave joined The TP Group in 2014 to assist with all aspects of the business including turnover, efficiency, client relationships and quality control. He has helped to establish The TP Group’s team-driven ethic and commitment to service and quality.

Dave thrives upon challenges and problem-solving. His drive and operational input have helped The TP Group grow beyond its ambition.

Sam Bollen

Commercial Manager
Painting Solutions

Sam Joined The TP Group in 2013, Keen to learn all there is to know about different paints and how a site is run, Sam spent six months working on the tools and studied in college to eventually become a Quantity Surveyor.

With experience in Contract Management, this puts Sam in good stead knowing not only how a site should run operationally but also commercially. Day to day Sam’s focus is to create new client relationships as well as build existing relationships and he now manages all commercial aspects for the painting division.

Peter Edwards

Senior Contracts Manager
Painting Solutions

Having started out as a Painter and Decorator and progressing to a Site Supervisor, Peter joined The TP Group in 2015 able to hit the ground running and take charge of the running of multiple sites and contracts across London.

Peter now oversees a team of Contract Managers, using his excellent industry knowledge to support our operations, liaise with the Site Management teams and work closely with all Contractors to ensure the smooth running and consistent quality of every project.

Carl Fawcett

Senior Contracts Manager
Painting Solutions

As Senior Contracts Manager for The TP Group, Carl draws on 25 years of experience in the decorating trade. Having started as an apprentice decorator back in ’96, Carl worked his way up through a variety of roles at various firms. This career path means he can apply a blend of management expertise with hands-on skill to oversee large-scale new-build projects, delivered to the highest standard.

Iwona Protaszczyk

Contracts Manager
Painting Solutions

Iwona came to the UK in 1999, joining GSE Decorator as a Painter and Decorator. After two years of impressing in this role she was promoted to Site Supervisor and soon after, Area Supervisor. During this time, Iwona was responsible overseeing both refurbishments and new builds.

Iwona joined The TP Group (Painting Solutions) in 2018 as a Contracts Manager. She is responsible for overseeing projects from start to completion, ensuring that work is completed on time and within budget. She is NVQ Level 4 qualified in site construction management, and is fully trained in first aid and SSSTS.

Martin McKim

Contracts Manager
Painting Solutions

Martin joined The TP Group in 2017 working as a Painting Sub-Contractor on new builds. After impressing in the role, Martin was quickly promoted to Supervisor, carrying out works for one of our largest clients.

In 2019, Martin progressed to the position of Contracts Manager. His responsibilities include working on both new build and commercial sites to control contracts; manage project finances; ensure Health & Safety, environmental and quality compliance is maintained; and oversee the implementation of company policy to meet objectives.

Mitchell Vaughan

Contracts Manager
Painting Solutions

Since starting as an apprentice and achieving his NVQ Level 3, Mitchell has spent 12 years working as a Painter and Decorator. After four years working for himself, Mitchell joined The TP Group in 2018 and quickly found his feet.

During his time at The TP Group, Mitchell has undertaken extensive further training including First Aid and SSSTS and now manages the day-to-day running of various sites in his role as Contracts Manager.

Peter Whent

Contracts Manager

Peter has worked in the construction industry for over 30 years since starting out as a Painter and Decorator. He joined The TP Group in 2012 as a Contracts Manager, applying his expertise primarily on social housing and refurbishment projects working with fire retardant Class 0 paints and lead stripping.

Ellis Cogger

Quantity Surveyor
Painting Solutions

Ellis draws on a wide range of skills and experience in his role as Quantity Surveyor for The TP Group. He started his career as an electrical engineer where he traveled the country dealing with clients to fit, calibrate and EC verify internal wiring for the food industry.

Later, he made a lateral move to join a construction recruitment consultancy. This helped him build a broad working knowledge of the construction industry as well as individual project scopes.

Since joining the The TP Group in 2017, Ellis has applied all his prior knowledge to adapt quickly to the demands of the Quantity Surveyor role. He now acts as Project Manager, overseeing numerous sites throughout various stages of completion.

Lee Richardson

Commercial Director
Passive Fire Protection

Lee has worked in the passive fire industry since January 2014, having previously worked in finance. During his career he has worked his way up to hold the position of Business Coordination Manager and then Commercial Director.

Lee joined The TP Group in January 2020 and is leading the division in an exciting direction. As Commercial Director, he is responsible for planning, developing and implementing commercial strategies to support and accelerate growth.

Outside of work, Lee is a keen football fan with Liverpool being his team of choice.

Ross Barron

Fire Door Managing Surveyor
Passive Fire Protection

Ross is a Fire Door Managing Surveyor at The TP Group with a wealth of skills and experience in the passive fire protection industry. As a qualified interior architect and associate member of the Institute of Fire Engineers, Ross is a versatile Surveyor with comprehensive technical knowledge of current legislation and regulations.

Ross is passionate about delivering the highest standards to clients and customers every time, and is at his happiest when he’s part of a hard-working, motivated team. It’s no wonder, then, that when he’s not on site, you’ll find Ross on the rugby pitch.

Karl Dunnage

Sales Manager
Passive Fire Protection

As Sales Manager for The TP Group, Karl is the primary link between our group and our clients. Since joining in November 2016, he has built and maintained close client relationships, assessing the needs of each customer so that he can ensure we deliver the best possible solutions, whatever the challenge. Working closely with our Contract Managers, Karl helps to make sure projects are delivered smoothly and that quality is maintained throughout.

He has a diploma in fire stopping inspection, is NEBOSH qualified and (besides all that) an ardent Spurs fan.

Paul Marshall

Senior Contracts Manager
Passive Fire Protection

Paul joined The TP Group as a Contacts Manager in 2014 having started his career as a Sites Installer. Having managed a variety of projects ranging in value from £10k to over £1 million, Paul brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the team.

Paul’s training and experience in Passive Fire Protection and Contact Management has made him a real asset to the team. When he’s not on site, you’ll find him cheering on The Hammers in East London.

Shane Baker

Contracts Manager
Passive Fire Protection

Shane has over 11 years’ experience in the passive fire industry, 2 of which were spent in sunny Australia. Having joined the team in 2020, Shane has quickly become an integral member of staff thanks to his wealth of experience in surveying, installing and Contract Management.

Shane is also a keen West Ham fan – in sync with our other Contracts Manager, Paul Marshall!

Peter Hickles

Managing Director
Surfacing & Coatings

In 2003, Peter joined The TP Group as a Labourer, quickly progressing through supervisory roles to become General Manager and, following the division of the Group’s companies, in 2014 Peter took on the role of Managing Director at The TP Group.

With qualifications including SSSTS, NVQ 3 in Occupational Work Supervision and gold-level CSCS, Peter’s broad knowledge base and wealth of expertise reflects the range of services the Surfaces and Coatings division offer. Outside of work, Peter is a keen traveller and sportsman.

Tony Ward

Technical Director
Surfacing & Coatings

Tony has worked in the construction industry for over 18 years, 12 of which he’s spent at The TP Group. Starting out as a Labourer applying resin flooring, Tony quickly rose through supervisory and managerial roles to become Technical Director thanks to his expertise and quick thinking when it comes to technical solutions in social housing, transport, industrial and food sectors.

Tony’s time at The TP Group has allowed him to build strong relationships with our clients and his knowledge of manufacturers and suppliers means he can provide specifications to suit any project, budget and need. Those skills as well as his passion and attention to detail have enabled Tony to be a part of such prestigious projects as the Olympic Stadium and Hampton Court Palace.

Craig Harris

Operations Director
Surfacing & Coatings

Craig has worked in the construction industry for over 30 years. He joined The TP Group in 2013 as an Operations Manager and has since progressed to the role of Operations Director.

During his time at The TP Group, Craig has been involved in some very prestigious projects such as Dover Pier and Kew Gardens. He prides himself in delivering excellent customer service and empowers his entire team to do the same.

Craig holds a CSCS card and is NVQ Level 2 qualified in specialist concrete applications in situ flooring (resin).

Outside work Craig enjoys spending time with his family and walking his dog.

Kath Ward

Director
Surfacing & Coatings

Kath joined The TP Group in 2005 as a part-time executive personal assistant. One year later, she was offered a full-time role as Contracts Administrator, allowing her to apply her skills in operational organisation to the execution all contracts. She was later promoted to Office Manager in 2015 and then Operations Director within our Special Projects division.

As Operations Director, Kath manages the day-to-day running of contracts whilst working towards the company objectives. She controls the Group administration hub whilst assisting with the development of the business including client liaison, whilst assisting with the development of the business.

Doug Vile

Sales Director
Surfacing & Coatings

Doug has worked in sales for the best part of 35-years, with more than 20 years’ experience in the specialist markets of intumescent coatings, specialist paint coatings, fire resistant paints, elastomeric coatings and MMA coatings.

Doug’s role involves getting systems specified by consultants, surveying practices, Local Authorities and Housing Associations, as well commercial and industrial sectors. He works closely with his clients to provide detailed specifications that can be inserted into tender documents.

Doug is proud to have won the LRWA Gold award for Kew Gardens (Temperate House) and to have written specifications for The Houses of Parliament, Royal Botanical Gardens and the National Trust.

Outside work, Doug enjoys reading, water sports and travelling.

Gareth Powell

Technical Manager
Surfacing & Coatings

Gareth has worked with The TP Group for 4 years. Having previously worked in retail as a store manager he wanted a change in career so joined the company as a floor layer. Showing great technical aptitude, Gareth soon moved to our Contar Resins company where he was able to develop his expertise in the manufacturing and applications of resin.

Gareth enjoys the diversity of his day-to-day role and interacting with his customers to solve problems. He thrives on customer satisfaction and the joy of beholding a high-quality finished floor.

Outside work Gareth loves to fish, spend time with the grandkids and walk his dog.

William Foley

Estimator and Sales Consultant
Surfacing & Coatings

Having worked within various divisions of The TP Group since 2015, Will has gained invaluable knowledge about the company and the construction industry as a whole. Will is now the primary Estimator and Sales Consultant for our busy surfacing and coatings division, providing quotes and helpful advice to our clients and customers.

Will is qualified in HNC Construction Management and, since joining The TP Group has been involved in a range of projects from Broadmoor Hospital and Kew Gardens.  For Will, rising to a new challenge every day and ensuring second-to-none service for every customer are the best parts of the job.

Chris King

Senior Contracts Manager

Chris joined the TP Group at the beginning of 2017 as a Senior Site Supervisor, having spent the previous 20 years as an engineer and manager within the commercial leisure industry.

Having spent 2 years ‘on the tools’ to gain a greater understanding of our products and services, Chris was offered the position of Contract Manager.

During this time Chris has developed excellent working relationships with our clients and suppliers and, as the department has grown, Chris has recently been promoted to the role of Senior Contracts Manager.

Chris currently holds a Gold level CSCS, SSSTS, SWQR Street works supervisor and an NVQ level 3 in Occupational work supervision. He is currently working towards a level 5 NVQ in Occupational health and safety and becoming IOSH accredited.

In his spare time, Chris enjoys travelling, photography and watching his beloved West Ham United.

Simon Perry

Commercial Director
Landscaping

Simon joined The TP Group in 2017 as a Senior Quantity Surveyor with over 30 years’ experience as a quantity surveyor and estimator for both main contractors and sub-contractors. Simon’s expertise is focused on hard and soft landscaping and general contracting environments.

From his work across a range of sectors and projects Simon brings a wealth of experience managing projects to the team. He’s also an award winner, having received a BALI National Landscape Award for Green Roof Installations and Roof Gardens in 2018.

Mathew Gilbert

With 16 years’ experience in estimating and quantity surveying, Matt’s expertise spans commercial and domestic works, renovations and new builds. HNC-qualified in Construction Management, Matt has worked on a range of projects from Walthamstow Town Hall to The Royal Veterinary College.

Always excited to get started on a new and challenging product, Matt is passionate about helping others grow and develop their skills. He’s at his best working as part of a strong team, inspiring and motivating others to succeed.

Peter Gilbert

Grounds Maintenance Contract Manager
Landscaping

Peter joined The TP Group in 2017 as Contract Manager responsible for grounds maintenance across some of London’s most prestigious gardens including the Jubilee Gardens, Buckingham Gate Roof Gardens and Hampstead Manor.

Before he worked for The TP Group, Peter spent 32 years working in plant nurseries, running his own landscaping company and even growing flowers for the Chelsea Flower Show.  When he’s not in the garden, Peter enjoys the great outdoors through travelling and carp fishing.
